Know Before You Go

  • Please refer to each event for specific guidance on what to wear.

    Friday Welcome Soirée

Cocktail Attire | French Countryside Chic

Think relaxed elegance with a Provençal twist. Light fabrics, soft tailoring, and effortless silhouettes feel right at home in the Luberon.

    • For women, cocktail dresses, elevated separates, or a chic jumpsuit pair beautifully with the setting.

    • For men, a suit or tailored jacket with an open collar or refined shirt works perfectly.

This is an evening to feel polished but easy—sunset, cocktails, and the start of a weekend together.

    Saturday Ceremony & Reception

    Black Tie

Floor-length gowns, elegant evening wear, tuxedos, and formal suits are encouraged for a timeless and elevated look.

    Shoe recommendations

The weekend will take place across historic estates, terraces, lawns, and stone paths. Guests should expect gravel, grass and uneven surfaces throughout the property and plan for appropriate footwear.

    • Block heels, wedges, platforms, or elegant flats are highly recommended

    • Stilettos are not advised

    • Men may prefer dress shoes with a sturdy sole

Comfort and style go hand in hand—choose shoes you can celebrate in well into the night.

  • Wedding Day Transportation

Transportation will be provided on Saturday, June 20, between Hôtel Capelongue and Château de Mille.

Shuttles will begin departing Hôtel Capelongue at 4:45 PM for the ceremony. Return transportation to the hotel will be available starting at 10:00 PM and will continue throughout the evening for your convenience.

The Luberon is best explored by car. Renting a vehicle is recommended, though taxis and hotel transfers are available. Availability may be limited late in the evening, so advance planning is encouraged. See additional details in the Getting to Provence section.

    Private Hotel Transportation

Hôtel Capelongue is able to organize private transfers for guests between the hotel and any desired location. Please note that Bonnieux is a small village, and last-minute transportation services can be difficult to secure, so we strongly recommend arranging transportation well in advance.

We work with a well-established and reputable local taxi agency that operates several vehicles of varying sizes. To organize transfers, we would need the following information for each service:

    • Date

    • Pick-up location

    • Number of passengers

    • Desired departure time

    • Drop-off location and return time (if applicable)

    • Luggage details

    • Presence of children and whether car seats are required

Payment can be made in advance via a secure payment link. Please note that any cancellation made less than 48 hours prior to the service will be fully charged.

  • June in Provence is typically warm and sunny, with cooler evenings. We suggest light layers, sun protection, and a jacket or shawl for nighttime events.

  • French is spoken locally, though English is widely understood, especially at the hotel and throughout the region. A few helpful phrases you may enjoy knowing:

    • Bonjour — Hello

    • Merci — Thank you

    • S’il vous plaît — Please

    • Excusez-moi — Excuse me

For ease while traveling, we recommend downloading the Google Translate app. Offline mode is especially helpful.

We recommend downloading WhatsApp, which is commonly used in France for messaging and calls, including with hotels, drivers, and local services. Download here

  • The local currency is the Euro (€). Contactless payments and credit cards are widely accepted, though some smaller vendors may prefer cash. Please note that American Express is not always accepted.
